STREATOR – A vacant house fire was extinguished by the Streator Fire Department early Monday morning. After midnight, emergency personal responded to a call of flames coming from a home in the 600 block of South Illinois Street. According to the Streator Fire Department, the fire was brought under control in twenty minutes with no injuries reported. The home sustained heavy fire and smoke damage. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the State Fire Marshal, Streator Police Department and Streator Fire Department.
