DIXON – A fire in rural Dixon has claimed six lives early Tuesday morning. According to the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, a call came in just after midnight for a home in the 200 block of North Miami Drive for smoke in the basement. Eight area fire departments responded to the home, which was fully engulfed. All six occupants of the home were found deceased. The Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, Illinois Fire Marshal, and Illinois State Police are investigating the cause of the fire. No names have been released pending notification of the family.
