STERLING – An airplane landed in a cornfield in Sterling on Thursday. According to Illinois State Police, they received a call at 1:30 p.m. for an airplane that landed in a cornfield in the southwest corner of Creston Road and Mulford Road. Police say, the airplane was a 1950 North American T-28A that took off from Tulsa, Oklahoma and were en route to Wonder Lake, Illinois when the driver and passenger reportedly lost power and made an emergency landing in the cornfield. There were no injuries and no damage to the plane.
