STREATOR – Five first responders of an apartment fire in Streator were honored with plaques at a city council meeting, Wednesday. Sgt. Robert Wood, Officer Chris Osbourn, Officer Drew Fritts, and EMTs Dawn McGrath and Bri Kelly received plaques honoring their efforts in responding to an apartment fire where residents including an infant and dogs were rescued. Police Chief Kirk Pastirik says its a honor to have dedicated personnel working for the citizens of the town. Sgt. Robert Wood caught the baby from the second floor window and assisted the parents out as well. The fire on May 11th in the 400 block of Richards Street was fully involved when authorities arrived.
