SPRING VALLEY – Walmart Distribution Center in Spring Valley is asking the city for permission to go solar. City Attorney Jim Andreoni says the distribution center is looking to build a 15 acre solar garden on the northwest corner of the property. Andreoni suggested a variance request through the zoning board of appeals because the city’s current ordinance is limited to five acres. The city referred a special use permit and variance request to the city plan commission and the zoning board of appeals. The plan commission and zoning board will meet to discuss the matter on August 14th at 7 p.m.
