Illinois State Police say businesses could be sanctioned and charges filed if non-essential companies remain open

SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois State Police announced they will be working with local officials to enforce the mandated “Stay At Home Order” that requires non-essential businesses to close. They say they are more likely to intervene if they witness crowds gathering, a bar or restaurant having customers eating in, or a movie theater that is open.
They also will be taking reports of employees being asked to report to work in-person where the business is not supposed to be open or appropriate social distancing precautions are not taking place.
The Illinois State Police say that businesses could face possible sanction from regulatory authorities, civil liability, court-ordered closure, quarantine, or even criminal charges
