DEKALB – One man is dead and another in custody after a shooting Sunday in DeKalb. DeKalb Police say they were called around 7:45 PM to the 1000 block of West Hillcrest Drive, where they found a 32-year-old DeKalb man suffering a gunshot wound. He was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Investigators identified 27-year-old Wayne Slater of DeKalb as a suspect and charged him with First Degree Murder. He was taken into custody and the incident is still under investigation.
