STREATOR – The Streator Township High School Board’s, Finance Committee has voted to opt out of the School Resource Officer Contract with the city. Due to cost, the board says they will be looking for other means to get that service, if the city is not willing to negotiate. Streator’s council sat down on Tuesday to discuss the issue and according to City Manager David Plyman, he’s willing to go over terms, however its all a matter of safety and how outside entities would be able to deliver that service affectively.
