CHICAGO – The price of oil has dropped nearly $20 per barrel recently to the upper $60s, which has spurred the retreat for gas prices, according to the American Automobile Association. The national average for a gallon of regular gasoline fell six cents since last week to hit $3.57, while Illinoians are paying an average of nearly $4. The reduced price for oil is slightly reflected in NorthCentral Illinois, with a price of $3.72 cents per gallon in LaSalle County compared to ten cents higher last month. Putnam and Bureau county’s pump prices are a bit pricier averaging 3.80 cents per gallon.
