St. Bede tops Putnam County: Monday’s NewsTribune roundup

GIRLS BASKETBALL

St. Bede 45, Putnam County 30: Savannah Bray scored 14 points Monday to help the Bruins to a Tri-County Conference victory in Peru.

Ashlyn Ehm and Lili McClain each scored 11 points for St. Bede.

Eme Bouxsein led the Panthers with 13 points, while Maggie Spratt added 11 points.

Princeton 53, Rochelle 48: Keighley Davis scored 20 points as the Tigresses picked up a nonconference victory in Rochelle.

Olivia Mattingly had 11 points for Princeton, while Camryn Driscoll added eight.

Fieldcrest 59, Lexington 47: Macy Gochanour poured in 26 points to lead the Knights to a Heart of Illinois Conference victory in Lexington.

TeriLynn Timmerman scored 23 points for Fieldcrest (12-10, 5-3 HOIC), while Pru Mangan added eight points.

Princeville 47, Bureau Valley 32: Emily Wright scored nine points as the Storm lost a Lincoln Trail Conference game in Manlius.

Roanoke-Benson 46, Henry-Senachwine 35: Kaitlyn Anderson scored 16 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, swiped four steals and dished out two assists as the Mallards lost a Tri-County Conference game in Roanoke.

Lauren Harbison had nine points, three rebounds and a steal for Henry, while Brynna Anderson added seven points, four steals and three rebounds.

GIRLS BOWLING

La Salle-Peru 3,261, Ottawa 2,834: Kamryn Oscepinski rolled a 674 series, including a 267 high game, as the Cavaliers earned an Interstate 8 Conference win in Ottawa.

Kaitlyn Miller bowled a 565 series for L-P, while Anna Ricci added a 556 series.

BOYS SWIMMING

At Peru: Jonathan Neu won a pair of events as the La Salle-Peru co-op finished second in a triangular.

Washington won with 96 points, followed by the Cavaliers (48) and Byron (26).

Neu won the 50-yard freestyle in 23.44 seconds and the 100 backstroke in 1:00.64.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Roanoke-Benson 50, St. Bede 38: Kaden Nauman scored 11 points as the No. 7-seeded Bruins lost to the No. 2 Rockets in a Tri-County Conference Tournament quarterfinal in Granville.

Carson Riva contributed eight points for St. Bede, which will face the loser of Tuesday’s game between Woodland and Marquette in a consolation semifinal at 8 p.m. Thursday.
