DIXON – A naked man was discovered in a home in Dixon by the homeowner when he awoke on Thursday. The Dixon Police say that they were called to the 200 bock of South Dement Avenue for a reported home invasion. When officers arrived they were told by the resident than a man was nude inside allegedly armed with a fire place poker. Police removed 52-year-old Joel E. Gartman from the residence and took him into custody. During the investigation, they determined Gartman allegedly gained entrance by tearing the screen and forcing a window at the rear of the home. He also reportedly unscrewed light bulbs, took off his shoes, and removed alcoholic beverages from the refrigerator which he allegedly began to drink. A resident in the home on the couch was asleep, but awoke to Gartman, who had according to police removed all of his clothes and had taken a seat on the couch holding the fire place poker. Gartman was charged with felony Burglary and Trespassing. He was taken to the Lee County Jail.
