MENDOTA – A Mendota man was arrested for reckless discharge of a firearm after an investigation into shots being fired early Monday. Around 1:15 AM Mendota police were called to the 100 block of Cherry Street where authorities say 48-year-old Oscar A. Gonzalez allegedly had fired a gun outside a residence and tried to gain entry into the dwelling. No injuries were reported. He was transported to the Mendota Police Department, where he was processed and later transported to LaSalle County Jail awaiting a court date.
