SPRINGFIELD – The House Republican Organization of Illinois has withdrawn support for Representative Jerry Long’s re-election campaign. They say they were made aware of an incident involving Long’s behavior and brought in the third party to investigate the allegations. After the report was completed on Wednesday, a decision was made to withdraw their support of Representative Long and recommend he step down from his position. Long has been in office since 2017, serving the 76th District which includes Bureau, LaSalle, Putnam and Livingston counties. The Streator native is seeking re-election this November.
