MENDOTA – Mendota’s Police Department gained a full time officer this week. At Monday night’s city council meeting, Chief Gregory Kellen was proud to announce that Officer Daniel Hernandez is on the force full-time after almost a year of serving the community as a part-time police officer. Chief Kellen says Hernandez’s bilingual skills have assisted the department dozens of times and sees a promising career for him. Hernandez’s first day of work was Sunday.
